It ain't a Garrett Metal Detector, but it is another one of their great treasure hunting products.:clapping: I live near CA's Mother Lode, and have finally decided to give gold panning a shot. Now I need to wait for its arrival and start practicing with lead nuggets.
I have already discovered a few areas up in the mountains that are public land and that have not been claimed.

Paid for with this years clad, and still a little left over.

Wish me luck on my new endeavor!:hot:

Hi Roscue2, Now join the GPAA and you will have alot of claims in CA. to go to. You can go almost all the way across the U.S. and camp for free on gold claims. Flintstone

Best of luck to you with the gold prospecting. I like to watch the Gold Fever show, the host is a good family man and it shows. I like to use the classifier when I'm digging a target sometimes. I just don't use it as much since I got my propointer. HH

[size=medium]i joined gpaa last year then found there were other clubs in my state that are cheaper and have more claims. some right next to the gpaa claims. as for the pans. be sure to get a lesson on which pans to use and when. i've been holding on to a couple of finishing pans for a couple of years and didn't know there was a differance.it has to do with the ripples in the pans. the deeper ones are what you want for the start. be sure to get the state info. the feds are really trying to keep us out of the gold fields. i will say joining the gpaa was a spendy school but getting the info and their mining book and cap and pan was worth the cost. you may find you'll be wanting a GPS device also.
