Hot head coil

shooter

Member
I have a hot head coil I bought years ago and can't remember what detector I bought it for. At the time i used a Tesoro Silver Sabre (Org. Model) and a Fisher 555-D, I dought if I got it for my 1265X. Anyone know how to tell or how to check the coil out?

You may want to call Kellyco as they are the folks that sold them.
I had a Garrett 10x sold by Kellyco and returned the unit for a trade 3 days after I got it.
It was well hyped by Kellyco as being a super detector with that Hot Head coil, I bought into it.
It wasn't any better than the Garrett Master Hunter ADS I had at the time.

If it has the 5 pin plug, there is a good chance it was for the Silver Sabre. I still have and sometimes use a 2nd. Generation Hot Head I bought for my Tesoro Inca. I read a post somewhere where they are really getting good prices for the old Hot Heads now. That doesn't sound right because they were deeper only because they were bigger than most stock coils and were hyped (what ain't?) to death. I liked and used mine though because it was lighter than the stock 8.5"that came on the Inca, but the depth was probably no better than the stock coil.If you have an older Tesoro, or UMax laying around I bet you could plug it in and try it. Don't know, but if the plug fits it is likely to work ok unless the coil has gone bad.

Thanks for the info I'll check out the wiring.
