Today I dug a pair of one of my favorite coins, Standing Liberty Quarters, one is very clear date of 1923 the other looks like a 1927. I have hunted this same park for many years and the same area many times different detectors, this time it was my go and grab &go detector Fisher Coinstrike with the 5" coil. The ground is dry but a signal was solid so i dug down a few inches and there it was. Checking again out came the second one. After re-re checking another signal...no way could it be possible 3? Out came a pocket knife I plan on cleaning up and see if the knife will open. Thanks for looking

Great job finding those after all the attempts. Did the knife have a bone handle?

Awesome............. That doesn't happen every day for Sure

How cool is that! :surprised: Think that knife might have been masking the signal a little? Good Job!:clapping:

This is the knife it is toast when i got a really good look at it, i think its a keeper something to go along with the pair of coins

very cool!

Great job on the SLQs and the knife. Think the quarters
fared a little better than the knife did in the ground though.
Possibly an old style Case pocket knife?

Nice finds! SLQ's are one of my favorite coins. I found one over the weekend, but without a date.

Beautiful coins - congrats !

Congrats on a pair of silver quarters & even better being a pair of SLQ's!!!

Thank you, some time ago someone made a post to show off the best SLQ dug i think the guy was amazed at a few of mine i dont think it was all of them lol. Do a search on the post its a good one.

Happy 4th to everyone

Nice SLQ's!

Excellent finds Michael N.Y.! The Liberty Standing Quarter is one of my favorite coins too. I'm glad to see that you didn't ruin them by harshly cleaning them. NY soil can be so kind to silver. Usually, all that is required is a gentle rinsing of surface dirt. Best of luck and ...

Happy Hunting!
