Hot Detecting

Hi All,first post for the New Year.Just back from four days in the Victorian High Country (Australia) and was it hot !!! 40-43C every day.We were prospecting along Black Snake creek which is about 350km east of Melbourne. We also tried our luck for a feed of fish but we drew a blank on the gold and the fish, it was also a total fire ban so there was no cooking either, but there were plenty of flies and mozzies to keep us company. It was all worth it just to escape to the peace and quiet of the bush for a few days.I have added couple of photos to show the type of country we were in and also the best way to cool down at the end of a hard day's prospecting.Cheers, Dargo.

Glad you had fun.I too like to go camping to get away from work, and I hate to say it,but my parents and brother. My brother and I work for ole dad so I cherish time away from them.I still love them but 40-50 hrs. a week is enough. The best part is meeting new people that share your intrests.

From USA and off the top of my head I dont know how hot 43 degrees C is,but the streams looks cool.

43 C = 109.4 F That's :hot:.

Sounds like a tough day out there! Thank mother nature for its creeks and streams huh, nothing better then having a dip in a cool creek on a boiling hot day  Its not easy looking for gold in that heat. Best of luck next time!
Cheers!
