Leanna is doing her first full-bodied clay horse sculpture, I think its turning out pretty well. She sits for hours on end, patiently twisting, poking, prodding clay, until its where she wants it to be. This is some kind of horse that has hairy ankles... she said its a "Frisian". Apparently Frisians have a lot of hair around their ankles, like a Clydesdale. She is still working on the muscle tone, then she will add the mane and tail.

The horse is supported on a pipe frame; there is a T inside the horse with support wires running to the head, legs and tail (green wire in photo). When she is done, she will unscrew the pipe from the T, and remove the pipe from the horse. The T will stay in the horse. Clay is then inserted into the hole left in the belly, and it is covered over. I'll post more as it nears completion.
We finally got her an airbrush off of ebay, I had her in the basement practicing several hours with it. She caught on pretty quick, we'll see what the finished product looks like.
