Salvaged this yesterday from cellar hole...was 2 of them...going back for other to see if an opposite of this one,there was an old frame and springs for a two wheel horse buggy....so kinda thought these were a step for getting in....but there is a star that is hand made onto step and would think this would have worn right off....any ideas?
 
Yep, buggy step, there are different shapes and mountings.
Nice find, I would go find the other one
There are a few on Ebay for sale.
