Hoping to get my GSII fixed up good during my year end break.

Finally ordered the pots I need to easily adjust the ground balance and the notch width. Now just to figure out where I want them.

Right now I just have it tuned for woodchips which makes it useless for my ground. Once I get the gb pot installed I can use it anywhere :clapping:

Since I have the box mounted under the arm cuff on an spare Teknetics rod I think I want the ground balance pot and the pinpoint/Disc/Retune switch both on the rod close to my hand. Mount the trigger switch on the bottom like a normal pinpoint trigger, with the ground balance pot on top.

But I'm not sure where to put the Notch Width pot. May look and see if I can put it in the back on the opposite side from the threshold. I dunno. But its going in there somewhere.

I'll get a picture posted when I'm done.

Just felt like talking about it.

would you be interested in adding another GSII to your stable...????? I have one that I bought new in '92 that I've used for 22yrs. with no problems. I sent it in last fall (?) to Tesoro for a "tuneup" and they returned it with new battery holders and they also rebuilt the coil (think it's an 8" donut). I switched to Minelab and no longer have any use for the GSII even as a backup. It's been a warhorse and has dug a bazillion coins over the yrs.....

PM me if interested....????

I admire you guys who can do modes,

I appreciate the offer. But I'm afraid I'd get in too much trouble. My wife is pretty understanding of my obsession UNTIL she sees I have two of the same model. Then any understanding that might exist flies out the window. I would just as soon not have that particualar battle.

The GSII is a good detector for what it is. I'm sure if you post it on the classifieds it would be gone in a hurry.
