Which is probably the most popular 8 inch coil back a few years ago.
I found that the S8 didn't give as big of signal as the Coinsearch did, just like the hot band was narrower and picked up more to the center of the coil and not the edges. With this being the case it seem to separate the target better so you could hear coins close to trash a bit better than the Coinsearch coil did. The coinsearch was a great coil to learn on then go to the S8.
I let one of my more experienced Sovereign users try my S8 one weekend and he kept it as he wanted to buy it. He went to a well worked park and pulled 5 merc in a hour that were 10-11 inches deep. The reason is he knows his Sovereign and this S8 just gave him the edge he needed to pick up these deep ones.
From my own use i found it had excellent depth and I could run my sensitivity a bit higher, but had to go a bit slower to hear some of the signal being they were a bit smaller sounding than the 8 inch Coinsearch I had been using.
Now I have used both the 10 inch Tornado coil that come on my GT and tried my Coinsearch too a little and had a S8 on my XS I have and felt the S8 did as good if not better than the 10 inch Tornado as far as depth and had better separation.
One thing to look at is how many used S8 do we see on the classified, not many so those that have them must like them and keeping them.
