Seeing as how I'm new to this forum and how much I've enjoyed looking at pictures of everyone's finds, I thought I'd share a few of my own. These were from a hunt last Sunday at a small chip bark tot lot behind a local community center. I swung my machine for about two hours before it started to rain. I wasn't able to search the corner of the playground with the swingsets (my favorite area for targets - saving the best for last). I'll try to get back there today. HH all. Jason

Nice Haul, Bounty Hunters always gets the job done. Good amount of clad you brought home with you.

I MD'ed for 3 hours this time, taking it slow around the swings. What a target rich environment this little playground is, and a lot of trash masking the good items. The shiniest coins were laying right on top of the chip bark in plain sight, proof (hopefully) that future hunts will be as productive. Taking it one beep at a time. Jason

Great Haul, and I have NEVER seen a tot lot give up so much at one time...WTG!!!

HH,

I'm with you GoGoGopher, I was shocked at the finds from this 30' X 30' area. This experience is what drove me out of my "vistors to the forum may only view posts" lurker status. I've been having fun on my hunts, content to dig up a handful of clad and corroded zinc pennies. And then this! It has affirmed what others have posted: It is out there, you just have to dig it. Thanks for praise. Pulltabs and Peace. Jason

If you find that many coins on a playground that small, either everyone else wrote it off as not being worth the effort, or you are about the only person in town who hunts. Be sure to check any grassy areas near that playground. Those areas may not have been hunted either, and may have been undisturbed for many years before the playground was installed.

A few years back, I found a new playground that had only existed for about 3 or 4 months. That day I was able to pull 90+ coins out of it. A couple months later I went back and got about 50 more. Then a year went by before I returned again. That time I worked hard for about 12 coins. Either someone else discovered the park or more people in that community became detectorists, because I no longer had it all to myself.

Good job! Take care and keep us posted. Dave
