Hope you guys don't mind me intruding here, but...

I admit I have been watching the Garrett forum with interest since the 250Ace came out. It seems like a great little machine.
And since my good friend didn't have a detector, but was interested in the hobby, I thought it would be the perfect gift for him.
So he received a belated birthday gift yesterday. After reading the manual, he went out and found $1.44 in his first ever detecting hunt!
I think he is hooked! He called me and was shaking the coins in an empty margarine container in the phone. Told me how every time the machine said quarter, he dug a quarter! To say he was impressed would be an understatement.
So thank you Garrett for the 250Ace! and thanks to you guys on this forum for all your interesting finds.
Take care and God bless,

I am also a Explorer user and just bought my daughter a Ace 250 for her birthday. She had lots of fun and made several finds with it. The ground here is so dry she cant hardly dig. Waiting for rain. I am very impressed with the depth the Ace250 can find coins. I wish my Explorer was so lite. It was just a little long for her so I reversed the shaft locks and cut about 2 inches off the shaft. Just right now. She is only 9 YO and loves to go with me detecting so I bought her own detector. Happy hunting to all.
