Got my machine updated and plan to go out to my trusty old testing grounds for deep civil war bullets. Got a new phone as well so I hope I can figure out how to run the video while I am getting some deep targets.
I find it strange that people feel the V3 won't go that deep. Every time I went to my place that has been pounded for over 30 years with every machine I would get at least 10 bullets within 2 hours which is fantastic.
I use a landscapers shovel that has a 16 or 18" blade on it and dig a hole larger than my coil so I know the target is in the center.
After I get down about 8 or so inches and it pinpoints in the center I take a stick and carefully dig until I find the bullet in the bottom still stuck in the dirt.
Most are at least 12" with the deepest being 14" but there were several of them at that dept as well.
The other interesting thing I found was that I was finding bullets pointing straight up and straight down maybe in the 10" range but I know they were missed by me and everyone else since there was not much surface area to detect.
I have only seen this phenomenon with one other detector and that was my Teknectics S/T years ago since it was also I high transmit power machine
Maybe our ground is just really good here and allows for the deepest detecting other than pure sand. There is some clay here when you get down past 5" but I think the minerals are very low to mild.
I hope to have some finds to post tomorrow night, and hope I can make a live video digging some deep stuff.
I also have a video on my old phone digging some deep friction primers right off the side of a confederate gun emplacement that were really deep but the multi-frequency pulled them out of a place I had scanned every inch before with every detector I have ever owned.
