I went to a home site I recently started hunting, and they were LEVELING the ground (and house) with large earth movers, ( ON A SUNDAY!!! ) so I went to an old abandoned school that is always good for a few coins. I found 3 pennies (one wheat) and broke my digger. Went back to the home site after the diggers stopped working, last week the house produced pennies from 1928 ~ 1955, a silver watsit, and a double ended axe head. They had removed a solid foot of ground and I received NO signal the whole time I was there. I tried the standard coil and the 10 X 14 DD with no luck on the 1350. I was hoping to find my first silver.

FIND OUT WHERE THE DIRT WENT, JOE!!! Then follow them trucks and go to work on the plie. I often poke in such scrape piles, eyeballing for worthies first. Have made some nice finds that way.

My neighbor added some fill to his yard years ago. One day I was detecting his yard and found an 1842 dime. Ill bet that fill dirt came from a place just like you site. Go find that earth, man!

Yeah all the goodies are in that first foot of dirt and went bye bye in the dump truck. I'd be asking where they dumped it.
