Hope for the newbie!
Went to a park in Miami today and about the fourth hole I dug this beauty. I was swinging my Explorer with a sliver program. I was about 6 inches down. I love this hobby! This is the oldest coin I have dug in Florida beating out my 1889 IH ,I dug in central Florida. It is only the second piece of silver i have dug since since i started using the machine
( about 90 days ago) I owe it all to practice and time behind the machine.

Hey Mike, We have been finding a few of those around here. Hopefully when you come for a visit we'll be able to direct you to a few of them. I've got an 1877cc dime so far this month.

I am looking forward to my trip as well i hope to be able to get out several days. I will call you guys & gals next week. This was my first seated quater and only my second silver quater. My town was swamp before 1960, not much hope of finding any here!
Thanks again,
Tamarac Mike

Hey Mike,
Good for you! That is awesome. Is that a quarter or a dime? I know what you mean about the practice and time behind the machine! It took me about 230 hours of use (2-4 hours per day every day for about 3 months) until I felt comfortable with tone recognition and rusty nail avoidance.
Good Luck <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
