Just had to show everyone my first attempt at a double sided ring from a 1930 British Penny I found . It's not very easy but it gives me something do to with the ground frozen:)
 
Ah ... the art of metal working. Practice and more practice. I never got very good and have probably forgotten what I knew since it has been too long with no practice.

John Edmonton over on the Garrett forum is an expert in making coin rings. Do a Search over there and see some of his beauties!! Heck, he even makes rings out of brass shell casings!! I'm sure he'd be glad to give you some pointers on how to refine your procedure. Frankly, I've never had much faith in my ablity to even come close to making one!! But I've got a Dremel tool coming for Christmas...may give it a shot!!
