Worked the Oceanfront today from 2pm-5:30pm. Still loads of sand. Wind blowing like crazy making the surf rough but targets are there but very deep.

Got around $1.41 in clad and then hit this honker mens wedding ring. 14k, weighs in at 10.4g -.365 oz - 6.7 dwt. This is my largest mans wedding band so far. It FEELS heavy! The picture should show how thick this rascal is.

Thats 2 days and 2 gold. I like it!!

Happy Hunting!

Wow! 10.4? That IS a honker!

...by the way, this is the scale you have, right?

Remember this one from last summer? The "Haya Busa Grand Cross" ring? A chunka-chunka-925-love!

And this 10K class ring from a few weekends ago...this is the heaviest gold ring I have...

We were looking at finds this morning. I tested it three times with my Mizar tester, each time it read 18K.
I tested other rings that said 14K, and they were.
I think maybe this ring got in the wrong pile at the jewelry plant, and was mismarked.
A good tester could make a difference.
Just a thought after seeing your post. great finds.

Yes, the scale is excellent...exactly what I was looking for. Simple, accurate, good price. Thanks for the tip. Still haven't gotten my diamond tester yet...I'm waiting until after my upcoming vacation next week. Probably looking at yours there too.

With gold around 20.00 a gram what would a 14kt. 9 gram gold band be worth? What is the formula? I have a few hundred grams of gold bands. Thanks

Anyone interested..

This is what I use to calculate gold. It works really well.
Try it and see, 30 day trial.
Very simple, enter market price karat and total weight. Gives you the price per gram, dwt, oz etc...
