Homestead site yields a few more goodies-Silver Bracelet & old shotshells..

I'm working an area that is now a picnic ground. I thought surely the bracelet was a recent drop but turns out it's from before the area was a park. Barely an inch under in a main walkway!. Has an old navy ID # & name on it. Google had nothing on the name but from wikipedia I was able to decifer the year on the ID#-1936!

I also found a broken axe head, 2 #10 shotshell ends-Blue Rival & New Rival...1890's to early 1900's. An old deco face watch-it was marked 10K GF on the back but its melted away any patina it had.

Then I found one of those pieces of junk that is likely more than that. I think it is the remnants of an old "rafter coin". I found melts pieces scatted in the same area. It was common for them to burn the residence when making it into a park & then they dozed it into the cellar I was told. There is a reeded edge & remnants of detail on both sides. But not enough to ID. Just looks really old.

Using my Teknetics Gamma for 1/2 the day & switched to my X2 for the remainder so both machines get credit for the finds. But the gamma did manage to find that small watch @ 6" or a little better so kudo's for that one. The troy found the bracelet so Kudo's there also..

Cheers!

You, and both brands of detectors, are doing well. Older sites, where we always hope for some nice silver or other attractive keepers, can be void of many targets, or sometimes loaded with misc. junk. Still, patience let's us deal with those conditions, and you're doing well.
