Homemade protector and shovel

So here is mine.. It works like a charm..

$8 mini shovel from lowels

$4 camo duct tape... i love camo... i made a homemade proector with thin foam and wrapped the etrac

Dremal took and used the cutting blade to make saw teeth and grind down to a sharp edge.

Looks great man! My only tip is don't take that shovel door knocking I know this from experience people will be way more inclined when they see a little digger. Plus we don't say dig we say prob. Wink Wink hard to say prob with that. but great for woods or field. I had in my early days used shovel just like that and was given permission to detect only to be denied once the owner seen my tool for digging. Enter the lesch.

If you would spend more time detecting instead of designing, maybe you would find something....But they do look good...

Nice finds! Don't lose it in the woods because of the camo cover!

looks good. that's exactly the same shovel i use... with one side sharpened to chop down brush

typing a lecture wastes valuable detecting time

Great shovel. But the bottom notch needs to be at least 1/2 inch wide to allow small tree roots to fit in. Then stomp on the shovel once or twice and cut clean through the root.

issombeituni,
Nice fabrication job!
Curious how you added the horizontal side assist handle as i'm also in the middle of fabricating a smaller park shover. Any closeup pics?

Some of us have pursuits other than metal detecting!
