Homemade MD Stand

I thought I would give this stand a go in the field. Hate having to always reach so far down after I stand up. I like to use my arms to get up rather then put all of my weight on the metal detector time after time. Plus most of the time a already have tools in my hands as it is. Very cheap to make. Pretty light weight. Will probably extend the middle pipe for more length but I'll try this for now. Pros and cons anyone?

Seems a little big...Does it get in the way of your swinging it?

Well I think I need to extend the middle pipe because it did hit my side a little bit when I swung it so I think if I lengthen it I'll be ok
