Home Screen Issue

Prodigy

So I turned my detector on and the Minelab startup logo appeared but would not go away to the detect screen. The machine still worked but the logo would not go away. I somehow still dug 9 silvers with it like this. The power button was the only button working. Basically I couldn't make any adjustments in field. I changed coils and it temporarily worked again but eventually did the same thing. I got the original coil to work again, but it again messed up after turning off and back on. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Prodigy,
Like you my CTX has the same problem, when I first turn the CTX on, up comes the Minicab welcome screen with the familiar sounds but there it stays .I have the ability to detect and still get the different tones but no screen display. I have to turn the detector off and on again and in most cases the detect screen will appear. I have checked all the connections and it happens on both of my coils the CTX is nearly 12 months old . Will have to send it back to Minelab here in Australia to get it repaired, if I can find time to stop using it ?

Hello Jas415,
Yes I have done a full reset and the problem still exist ,will just have to live with it until I find time to send it away for repairs. Thanks for the reply.

Sounds a bit dumb but you might try to plug it into Exchange 2 and see if it will clear up. Maybe swap some programs on and off it. Do a reset with it plugged into Exchange 2. You need to send it off anyway, and that just might square it away. And again, it just might kill it totally and stop your digging.

Ditto on the problems listed above. Freezes on the home screen. Detector was still working but you couldn't get any info from the screen. Tried everything including master reset, battery , cables. Sent it in for repairs.

I have talked directly to repair in Florida about mine. This is a circuit board/keyboard problem that, if I understood correctly, requires that board to be replaced. Mine started doing it only once or twice in a 6 month period then just went completely out.
