After hunting for 6 hours the other day,, My SE laded with a sunray probe and SEF coil started geting a little heavy!!! So i put this little piece of equipment together with some product i had in the garage!! I tried it out for the first time today,, I thought it worked very well!! The detector sort of floats it your hand,,, It's great for hunting slow!!! Tell me what you all think!!!!

Oh and i wanted to say Swingy Thingy,,, I type too fast lol

now you'll be able to detect all day instead of just 6hrs.lol I made one years ago when I used a Sovereign. Those machines are real boat anchors but they work good.

I like it.

Way go. Here is something that also works really well for me on long hunts. A small back pack I use has a really comfortable fit and a breast attatchment with hooks on each side of the chest. I found an adjustable length bungi cord that is easy to adjust and it hangs on the shoulder strap of either shoulder. Some hunts are far from the car and the back pack is perfect for the gear and the swingy. No dissin on the Doc who makes the swingy thingy ( who probably will now make this gear as well) .....but this way I dont have to have another gear item to connect... just put on my back pack and hook up. Oh yea I bent the one hook up high so it cannot come off easy... so I can also hang the detector while i use two hands somethimes. Go get em!

I almost yelled when I saw the pic, then noticed it was just you taking a picture of you!! Man, don't scare me like that!!! Make sure you let them know its for a right handed person!!

That sound like it would work great to Utah!!!! And yeah, There definitely no dissin doc at all... He is definitely the brains behind the operation, plus smart enough to put it on the market!!!!!

I like the padded shoulder strap. We actually have very nice little canvas backpacks made precisely for what you were suggesting. Carrying a sandwich, some water, and extra gear.

Believe me I have no problems with anyone making their own gear. How do you think most of the things I make came into being? I made them for myself, until I got them to a point where I felt they were worthy of public consumption.

I found a vest at Wal-Mart that fits over both shoulders and buckles at the chest and waist. It comes with a water bottle in back, which is connected to a drinking tube that comes out over the shoulder so that you can carry water with you. To that strap on the hunting side of the vest, and this is still a work in progress, I added a wide flat bungee strap which feeds through the shoulder strap on the vest to stabilize it. The question, yet to be found out, is would a round bungee cord do better than the flat, and how do you secure the machine to the hook at the bottom? On this bungee strap, there is a large (5 Inch swivel) hook at the bottom that the machine would easily fit into, but keeping it in there is the issue.
This is not to be understood as better in any way than what Darrel did, just something different, as my fevered brain works its way through my daily life.
That dirty old egg-sucking hound of a metal detectorist- Chuck Smith.

hey doc thanks for the idea (swinghy thingy) sorry to say it got me thinking and i came up with something that works pretty good out of strapping and bungee cord i wont post my pics though

(dont want to hurt your sales) doc congrats on the great idea
