I also recovered an 1896 Barber and 1917 Mercury Dimes... Toss in a buffalo and 3 wheaties and make a nice group of keepers tonight...

Awesome finds!!!!!

Congratulations Paul......:clapping:

Congrats!!! That's the second one of those to turn up recently. Bill S had one just the other day. My Red Book says $550 in good condition, but being a dug coin might degrade that price somewhat. Still, just to say you found one is worth more than any monetary value. I'm still looking for mine.

I found 3 last week! they must be in season, but I have started practicing catch and release for coins so I just take a picture of me holding it and then place it gently back in the hole and cover it up.

Great job Paul!

Very nice finds. I have to ask how would you be cleaning these? I imagine you will be very careful with that V Nickel since it's a key date, but what about the less valuable ones. Oh and did I mention...... Nice one on that key date lol. You have something there.

Paul nice finds, its a good feeling when you find a coin you love but when its a key or rare date is amazing! Enjoy, HH

That's crazy! That's like the third 1885 V I've seen come out of the ground in a week! Great job!

Very nice group of coins Paul good for you

Great finds Paul - congrats !

Just curious what would that coin be worth in that condition?

It's hard to tell the "grade" from a photo, but it appears to be at least VG (Some letters in LIBERTY are visible). The Whitman's Red Book lists a VG for $600....of course being a dug coin, etc. likely will reduce the value some, but it's still worth several hundreds of dollars.
