I was fortunate enough to find a gold and silver buyer in a nearby town and I made some bad decisions on bill paying and the paycheck ran out before the weekend. I took a handful of silver after scratching through a couple of bucketful of finds-even found a few small pieces of gold. I had been going to a pawn shop, but after reading posts from you guys, I just waited and was getting ready to mail to Midwest BUT I needed the money PRONTO! These nearby guys were ALMOST on par with Midwest and I walked out with $150 for just a small amount of silver and gold. SO-O-OO, next day I went through my stuff again and today-$140! The stuff wasn't all that much and if I'd gone to the pawn shop-maybe $100. Lessons learned: (1. read these forums-they help and there's some wonderful, wise people. (2. It was all found with entry level detectors-just get out there. (3. Know your buyer and keep informed on gold prices, techniques.:twodetecting:

Always ask before you sell, what are you paying per penny weight of gold should be from 28.00-35.00 per penny weight. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO WALK OUT AND GO TO THE NEXT PLACE. These national gold buyers that come to the big hotels seem to pay the best prices and the are lic and bonded. Just sold a 6.1 penny weight men's wedding ring for 148.00 dollars= a little over 24.00. Silver is another thing you need a lot of OZ to get any thing. Been metal detecting since 1970 and selling gold
GET YOURSELF A GOOD GOLD SCALE AND WEIGHT IT BEFORE YOU SELL IT, THIS WAY YOU WILL KNOW THE WEIGHT I don't trust anybody. (EBAY TYPE IN GOLD SCALE A GOOD ONE ABOUT 20.00-30.00 STAY AWAY FROM THE CHEEP ONES
