Seeing that makes it easy to visualize how earlier villages and towns throughout history were quickly smothered in volcano lava. That is frightening destructive power !
 
Now I see why even small slides can take so many lives.
 
landslides. I would think that rescue would be impossible once covered up by the dirt or mud. Kelley (Texas) :(
 
just slid down a hill.... Wonder why all the water was being held in that area. Got to be heart breaking watching it happend and nothing you can do but watch your home slide away.
