Holsters, belts and bags

So, what are your set ups for carrying your digging tools? I carry my pin pointer in my front pocket which means I have to constantly turn it on and off. I carry my loot & garbage in my rear pants pocket, my hand digger in my left hand. My big digging tool is in the back seat of the truck and I swing with my right hand. I would like to find or build a "Bat" utility belt. You know, like what Batman had. A quick on and off belt that had a pocket for goodies, a pocket for garbage with space for a spray bottle, digger, flashlight, gloves, brush etc.
What do you use? Store bought or home-brew?
I thought about making an ankle holster for my pin pointer and maybe a lightweight carpenters belt to carry all my accessories.
Am I taking this too far, should I just carry the essentials.
What do you think?

don't over think it, that's my department. Lol. I use belt system's. Start with a sturdy belt that you can add to or subtract from making it modular. A visit to local big box store tool department will give you hundreds of ideas. You do not have to spend much to assemble a decent system. Most likely you will find a belt with enough pouches and pockets already installed to suit your needs. My wife uses a repurposed fanny pack that also holds her digging tool in its sheath and her pin pointer in its holster. The fanny pack holds her keeper finds, phone, band aids and other small items. Then she ties a $3 nail apron with two large trash pockets around her waist. A simple diy system like hers works very well. I would not store my pin pointer on my ankle, probably won't be comfortable and could interfere with your detector. Also you should turn your pin pointer off between targets. Walking around with a powered up pin pointer will cut your battery life and very well could cause interference with your detector.

Belt to carry holstered pin pointer, two pouch carpenters apron, (1 pouch for trash, 1 for goodies) and cargo pants or shorts for carrying extra batteries and cell phone. Knee pad is affixed at hunt start and I carry my digger in my left hand and detector in my right. All mentioned items are stored in a small gym bag along with coils for detector being used and spare digger and pin pointer. I also carry water in a small cooler and as a urban coin shooter, my vehicle is always fairly close by. I go as light as possible. HH jim tn

Keep it as simple as possible is my philosophy. We usually hunt in three hour windows depending on weather conditions, we'll head back to the truck for a cool drink and some crackers and then head back out.
The only thing i carry that is a must have item is a plastic poker chips I use for marking the target during pinpointing process.

Add them all up and some great ideas emerge. We are always looking for lighter and smarter ways to make detecting easier. It's very important as we get older.

I use the larger upper pocket for trash and the lower smaller pocket for treasures (good finds)

I had been using a USGI pistol belt with a large MRE pouch as a trash/junk pouch and an e-tool canvas pouch as a pinpointer and digger pouch. It had suspenders that had a strap to attach to the detector. It was good and I used it for three years.

I traded it in for a Relic Elite pouch. It was about the same price as my cobbled together pistol belt solution and is much lighter. I threw a hori hori knife sheath on it and won't ever go back unless I get a heavy detector that needs a harness.
