Hollow Ball - Is This Military?

Erik in NJ

New member
I found this at a construction site a few days ago - cleaned up nicely and I noticed the single groove around the rim. It has the sae diameter as a silver dollar approx. and is either copper or brass as far as I can tell. I can't imagine what it might have been used for. I was wondering if it might be military in nature - some sort of projectile? Thanks for looking....

Hi, That's what Richard Walker thought it was however I can't figure out how it could have been attached. There is only a very thin shallow groove around the hole, plus it is on the small side for a doorknob - ca same diameter as a US Ike silver dollar.
