Well after a long research from Luke we finally after a long wait had the permission to hunt one of the busyest beach in Quebec. A lot of nighjt poachers jump the fence to get in, but as a cop, there is no way i'd do the same to detect there. We finally ran into the right person and gave the right arguments to get in. Instead of walking for miles and jump the fence, we simply could park the truck right on the beach !!

Okay, we were a bit disapointed to see all the holes once we got in. But we had the advantage of hunting in day light and had all the time in our hands.

Signals were disapointly scarces at first. In fact, when we stopped for lunch, all i had in my poutch were a couple of bucks, a small 10K gold ring and a silver or two. Luke had about the same, but a bit bigger gold and more change... oh and my first "stainless steel men's band... pffff steel ! Luke's 10 inch coil on his excalibur had the advantage on the dry land.

So we had lunch and i was hoping for one more gold in order to break my gold record. So we went back in the water, and after a little while i saw Luke doing Zorba's dance... came closer and saw a huge gold chain, at least 24 inch long...with two men's gold rings on it! Boy... was I jaleous ! So Luke had a better gold and change count than I... So i didn't stopped for long and kept on detecting. First signal i got after that was a hefty 9.5 grams 10K white gold band. Luke was still dancing and i felt like dancing too! was still jaleous... but a bit less already! It's a bizarre look for a gold ring... at first i taught i had a second steel ring.

Well we continued detecting all afternoon. I stupidly forgot to bring anything to drink except a little orange juice for dinner... started to get thirsty... that's a little painfull when you detect in the middle of a lake ! Got several faint and broken signals that turned out to be either bobbypins... or gold erarring ! That's the kind of signals night poachers don't waist time to dig... fortunatly for me !

We were very exausted at the end of the day, signals were really scarces, but we kept on finding a few coins or silver here and there. I never had sutch a paying ratio of silver and gold per coin or trash find. Pretty odd ! On some beach we got more than a hundred dollars of coins and only a few gold... today i ended up with 9 gold and 7 silvers for only 31.00$ in clad !

So here are today's pics. first, something i dont post often, my trash :

Second picture... a stainless steel bracelet with what i beleve to be gold insertions. I can't make out the markings, but the color stayed solid after a long brushing on the cotton wheel with rouge. Usually plated crap goes off after that kind of treatment. I really gotta get me a new gold test kit !

Here is the silver and stainless steel ring. Look at the big bling bling silver ring. Too bad it lost the big stone that must had been there !

Here is a view of thoday's finds :

And finally here is a better view of the gold. The big women's ring with the stones is 14K with small diamonds and some darker ones. The cross is 18K. The big earring is 14K and the rest is 10K. My wife took away the women's ring and the steel and gold bracelet. Now my new gold record for a season is 80.

Hope luke will post his pictures too !

Nice Loot. With stuff like that, who would care about a little cold weather.

If the stamping on your bracelet is "copyright DY 925 585" it may be a David Yurman designer piece, or it may be a copy. These are sold through stores like Saks 5th Avenue and you can find many on Ebay. See this post of one I found:

The thing is though, look at the quality of the product that he makes compared to the bracelet.

All in all, still a wonderful find!!
