A while ago there was a wish list for Minelab. I didn't post mine but it was a detector that can deal with high EMI areas and still run at a decent sensitivities. I spent alot of time detecting in town along terraces under powerlines this summer and could only run in the teens in most places. I am absoulutely positive this kept me from finding older coins.

Just got on the Geotech site and looked at the patents. Looks like Bruce Candy from Minelab already took out a patent to do this in 2002. Uses a third receive coil to receive EMI and cancel it out, if I am reading the patent correctly.

Anybody hear anything about this.? If they get this to work it may be when I finally upgrade from my XS.

That would be great if that type of interference could be eliminated. The other things that would be on my wish list is cutting down the weight and changing the screen so I can see it better under various conditions, making more of the controls readily available without going thru the menus. Still, the Explorer is a great unit in my opinion and glad to use it like it is, until another unit comes along and proves (to me) to be superior....
