Hit three areas today, NO more Bottle Cap issue with the T-2!

Old California

New member
Very long afternoon, Hit three areas two of the locations went clad hunting and the last site was an old school house site out in open farm land.

I'll try to keep it short and to the point, My post tend to go on too long so please bear with me if this one appears to go into overtime.

I'm finally getting a firm grip with the T-2 on clad hunting, It's truly an amazing machine once the user puts in the time to learn the 3b mode and other tricks to avoid digging bottle caps.

Searched an old park laced with bottle caps and an old hospital today for an hour each using the 3b mode, within two hours dug 57 coins and only one bottle cap. Truly amazing and now I have the confidence the T-2 can avoid bottle caps with ease once learning some simple tricks and using the 3b mode.

Later after the two hour hunt, I was practicing with the 2+ and straight 3 mode and realized it's possible to avoid bottle caps using these modes without using the 3b mode. It took learning the 3b mode to teach myself how to avoid bottle caps on the other modes, Which I will share with you in the near future on another post.

The last site I hit today was an old single room school house now on open farm land, The school dates pre-1892 and may have been in use up to the early part of 1900 based from today's finds. Two barber dimes, Indian penny, rusty pocket watch and odds and ends. Can't find my coin book but the dimes are

1896S,
1901 and
one Indian penny hard to pull a date,

Funny, But this farm land was only about two inches in growth about 10 days ago and now it's up to my knee caps......It'll be a jungle in few days.

I'll continue to keep you posted with the T-2 on clad hunting, I think I'm on to something here with better avoiding bottle caps using the regular modes and not just with the 3b mode

Thanks for looking,
Paul (Ca)

From my recent hunts so far the 3b mode eliminates most if not all bottle caps from most areas and I don't know if there is enough interest with T-2 users with using the 3b mode to avoid bottle caps, I've learned allot from these recent clad hunts and found cherry picking clad coins from a bottle cap infested park will actually help the user sharpen his/her skills and prepare them to search the older iron ridden sites when they do surface.

The only difference between the two, Instead of plucking out clad from between bottle caps, the T-2 user will be pulling out old coins and relics from iron laced sites with the same ease they did pulling out clad from trashy areas.

The 3b mode is only good for reducing bottle caps, Using this mode for any other reason will actually weaken the performance on the T-2. One would not want to use the 3b mode for deep turf, relic hunting or searching a demo tying to weed out the bottle caps, the deeper and weaker signals will be lost using the 3b mode. The 3b mode is strictly to be used for clad hunting or gold jewelry and coin hunting for those who go after both.

I'll try to share more later with some tips I've learned to eliminate bottle caps, Amazing detector.

Thanks again, Paul

So Paul are you saying that even with disc say at sixty or above you are not having masking problems with iron or trash or targets close to one another. You are digging all the high numbers? I know on some of my detectors when you disc or knock out a target it may knock out a good target that is close to it. Anyway I will await for your report but do go into depth about all of this for all of us I love to learn.

Hey LAWRENZO,

I'm comparing both now, High disc "80" with 3b mode and low disc set at 10 with the 3b mode.

Later in the near future, I'll post my results with several different modes and the levels of discrimination used.

Having a ball right now with the T-2 digging clad and avoiding bottle caps, Feel like a newbie to the hobby ;)

Now I can't wait to use the F4..

HH, Paul

Thanks for the report, Paul. I've been using my T2 for a while now and really like it. I generally use 3 in the tone ID and discrimination at 40. I noticed that you have done some hunting with discrimination at 80, this will miss all nickles, won't it? As for zincs, 80 will knock most of them out but also some weak wheats.

I've also found that sometimes all the audio chatter is hard to sort through. Lcmp has commented of this in the past.

Boy how do you do it Paul, I was thinking I will just wait and let you test the new fishers before I even touch one. But before you test anything you have to finish with your tests with the T2 and post them.

When I feel better I am waiting to hit a strip in Plymouth that is off HWY 49 looks like a strip where a lot of people walked to get down the HWY...I was going to use the Fisher but now I think I will test the T2.

If you ever want to hunt ChinaTown just let me know I think I can get us both in there you will love it. It is filled with iron and there was a hotel and store and a dump sight. Just need you to help me sniff it out on some Saturday. I'm sure there is a lot of cool stuff in there last time I was there I got so many hits and over loads. I was lucky to find the lock and key.

Be good and good to know your friend is going to be fine.

Lawrenzo

Thanks JM,

I still fill the T-2 has more to offer us once we take advantage and learn
what she has to offer, It's a real good detector

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

Ok, I'll post my results real soon, Still need to hit a few more parks and schools.

When I get the F4 lcpm, I'll sent it to you for a couple of weeks after I've played with it.

HH, Paul (Ca)

Paul if they made people any bettter then you our planet would be a perfect place to live in.

Lawrenzo

you may want to dig those signals because some of them, while not a coin, are also not bottlecaps. I only use it if there are a lot of caps present.
