hit the timber behind my house

My daughter and I decided to try detecting the timber behind the house. Didn't find much other than the understanding of just how slick wet leaves on top of slick mud can be lol. We had a blast cleaning ourselves up without mom finding out haha. We did manage to detect an old spoon. On our way back we found an old bottle dump (many more down there so I may have to go search it up again soon - while the ground is wet and the bottles are easy to remove). Found a nice philips made in USA blue bottle along with a nice embossed 16oz 7up bottle and small milk glass jar.

Hope everyone ids enjoying the weather!!

Nice finds. The bottles look like they are from the 50's give or take a few years. I like bottle hunting, its like metal detecting, you never know what might turn up. Good luck with the bottle dumps. Remember, the older ones are usually towards the bottom.

The wife told me I have enough hobbies and we don't have room for bottles lol. Guess I'll have to sell her car to make more room... ;)

Sounds like you both had a good time. Nothing better than getting all dirty and muddy (even being a girl) while out in your own back yard. It all washes off. I love the bottles and specially that green one. The Phillips Milk of Magnesium bottle and the milk jar are so cool also.

Congrats and thanks for sharing. HH, Nancy

Good job pulling those out. Very cool. Be interesting to see what else might be in there.

I guess we need to clean out a spot in the garage. Maybe some shelves. Now you need to find a safe down there. Too bad the pool isn't open yet. Could have been a quick way to cleanup.

Look on he base of the bottles, there is usually a number for month and/or year of manufacture. As long as you have your detector with you when you find the bottles they can be entered in the display category of our FOM. Good Luck.

The detector is the reason I went for a hillside into the creek lol.I'll snag the bottles off the porch and have a look once the boys lay down for their nap.thanks for the info as I'm a bottle newbie.
