Hit the surf lane for 3 hours this morning.

Got down to the lane around 1:30 for the 3:30 low tide. The high tide had came way up last night and left sea weed all over the beach.Did not see any other surf pirate tonight. Did not find any jewelry just some clad.Met the guy and returned the plat. ring I found June 3 and he gave me my $500 reward and I gave him the ring. That made a nice evening.
Here is my nut for last night.

Not a bad paycheck for doing something you love. If I remember correctly it only took you a few minutes to find that ring that was lost in a park. Now that is alway exciting knowing what you are looking for, then finding it. Congrats and thanks for making our hobby look good.

You came out over $100 ahead! I did a calculation on Dendritics for 9.6Gs of PT, which part of your ring was 750 nad not all PT. It came out to $399.74. Great show! Don't mind giving something up, if you get paid like that, huh?

GH , You are looking at scrap price for gold and Platinum when you say it is worth 399.00 or close to that. My wife looked at the pic. and said it was a high dollar ring. The replacement value around 1400.00 from Tiffany & CO. It is Milgrain cut, which is hand tooled around the edges. She found it on the web, but this is full retail. A jeweler may pay 50 to 60% of that, so he could make a profit. Either way it was a great deal for David, I would have done the same. Check this out.Click on the ring to enlarge.

No question about retail. Retail does not factor much in the pirate world though, as scrap is king. Even a jeweler is not going to give you much more than scrap value, but probably less. Scrap is what gets you the bar, my friend! You can control that! GH
