Found a spot that gave up over 100 wheat pennies, all in really good shape. There are 80 in the pic...my brother got 23 of them. All of these were found in an area about 50ft x 50ft. I picked these off with my CZ6a.

Funny thing is...not one silver coin. The 10:1 wheat to silver ratio was non existent. But, instead of a silver for every 10 wheats, we got a foreign coin. Ones from Hong Kong, Mexico, Trinidad, Israel, Canada, Italy and the weirdest one was the 1939 German coin with a swastika on it. I took a pic but it did not come out too well.

Wow! Congratulations on finding so many wheaties but that really seems odd. Were those coins found up in the dry sand? HH!

I have no idea the story behind this one. Found them all in the wet sand and suds and some were coming out shiny. Weird.

Maybe someone just got a roll of them and tossed them, but I can't explain why all the different foreign coins and the date ranges.

looks like someones coin collection??????

Those are some interesting finds! What state, country, coast, are you hunting? Love the Germany coin...joe

Hi if you can take a photo of the other side too i could send the picture to my friends in Germany and find out if anyone knows what the coin is.

Might have been a break in someones collection dumped there.
They may have kept all the good silver coins !!!

I did a Google search on 1939 German Coin and that is exactly what I found...a 10 Reichspfennig

Very weird.

Yes I agree just interesting !!
Great finds

Trying to figure out, or contemplating, how certain finds got where they were and the story behind them.

the 10 reichspfenning is in a very good condition, the ones i find here (europe) are all eaten out, most of the time beyond recognition, unless they came frm a sandy area. congratulations !

Yea, a couple of years ago I found three German coins in a box. A 1 mark, 3 mark and a 5 mark with the German cross on them.. They look like they've never been in circulation.. I still have them. Never got them checked out.. Cliff
