Hit the beach during the Low today

Negative tide, got in around 0900 and was on a good number of coins when the Batt croaked, so after a quick run to the walmart I was back in business care of some double A's. Returned but the place went dead like the battery so I headed north, a few more coins and some trash and duty called so I had to head to the office and work for awhile, by the time I finished weather was to foul (light rain) to return. Ran at the usual settings Disc mode, sens 11o'clock, just audible threshold, no disc or notch but feel like I may not be getting all out of the GT that I could be. Gonna have to start mixing it up and see if I can get back on the gold, any suggestions on other settings?

GH I know that running it with the threshold below barely audible in the surf is the setting and I do in the water, but will it produce the same results in the lane out of the water or am I getting a poor signal to noise ratio causing me to miss the deep signals in the lane?

Mine never left silent, while there. Deep or shallow, was the same setting, but may have adjusted some on the Sensitivity. As far as I'm concerned it was working and working well.

Just curious because Gulf Hunter also runs just below threshold but if you do that how do you know if the detector is nulling? I personally think continously listening to that buzz all day is annoying but at least I can hear the nulls. How important is that? Thanks.
