Hit that swimming hole again, still no gold.

Decided this morning I was going to go clean that swimming hole of all the junk, but I lost that battle. After 4 hrs. of digging all targets mostly pull tabs and bottle caps, some clad and a junk charm I realized it was a loosing battle. If I got a target, when I rested the coil on the ground while I was digging, it would pick up another target. I was getting pull tabs and bottle caps at the same time. Bottle caps in the scoop with clad. I quit digging the bottle caps but I know there are plenty left for the next guy or gal. I will go back and cross the river, to the rope swing after school starts.

8:OO AM , SEE HOW SMALL THIS AREA IS

Thanks for looking. HH

... and all the same targets, too! Looks like youngsters partying it up, from the finds. The devilhead looking emblem is a skateboarder apparal and equipment logo - I cant remember the brand.
Maybe youll find a little bag of smokelareefer if you stick to it.

It does look like a lovely place to spend your time, though. As always, your pics are superb.

Hunt there each time doing exactly what you're doing digging every signal until you get bored or frustrated and then leave. Keep it is your own personal "spot to hunt" since odds are pretty good nobody else has been there and just keep clearing it a little at a time month after month until you have enough of the crap out of the way that you start finding the nice stuff.

Take it in little bites at a time - that way you won't get too discouraged and never go back - odds are pretty good there's nice stuff there too - just gotta get to it! Wouldn't be at all surprised to see you pull something nice up in the scoop along with the next bottlecap you find.

Joe..I'm sure you've heard this before?

Concentrate on areas that have hundreds or even thousands of swimmers vs a few

The more swimmers in that area the better your odds they will loose something to find...My theory anyway

Good Luck, HH, and keep the post commin

Skully

That is pretty much what I had in mind, but just got to much of it today. I will go back because it is just a few miles from home.I have about 5 places like it I go till I get bored with them .I have found quite a few nice pieces at these places, just far and few in between. About twice a month I take a road trip to Clearwater , Cocoa or Daytona, Looking for the BIG ticket. HH.

Drag it along the bottom, and it should get a lot of the bottlecaps, bobby-pins, nails, screws, etc.

I was planning on building a big magnetic "rake" using lots of magnets mounted on a 2x4, but never got around to it.

Man Papa Joe, you've got determination..thats a lot of pull tabs and trash to endure. If theres gold there you DESERVE IT!
