Did find something thats all crusted in black stuff looks like charcoal almost, no idea what it is but whatever it is its been in there awhile. Want to get something to clean my finds should I get a barrell tumbler? and how can I get this black stuff off whatever this is I found?

Hey silverstar_lawman,

I saw a really simple electrolisis device in metal detecting hobby resources. Basically, it involves a spoon, a 12v adapter for cordless phone, two alligator clips, and a glass cup or bowl. Split the two wires apart and attach an alligtor clips to the wires. Clamp one clip to the object and one clip to the spoon. (the bowl or glass or cup must have enough water in it to cover the object.) If the spoon starts fizzing switch the clamps. If the object starts fizzing leave it alone for about five minutes. Tye a knot in the lead that goes to the spoon. I suppose you could use any type of sacificial metal like a nail or so. I hope this helps. Good Luck!!

I'll give it a shot thanks
