Hit my neighbors yard today...

...and picked up my first silver of the year. The house is from the late 1800's and was the original farmhouse in our subdivision. These are from the front yard but I have permission to search his backyard too. I got to hunt about an hour or so before Carol rang the dinner bell.

I dug a lot of junk too. One piece is square and very heavy like maybe a large, dirt encrusted nut off of farm machinery. I'll soak and clean it too see what it is when I get a chance.

Nice , I have only found one silver so far and it was a roosevelt too.

Congrats, Doug on getting out to do some detecting and finding silver, even if it was only for a short time! May God Bless you with a lot more detecting time and nice finds! Amen! Ma Betty

...it did feel good swing awhile. I'm going to try to get out more this year.

...when it popped out of that hole. Strangely, those were the only coins I found. The backyard is huge and I have permission to dig it too so hopefully it'll produce some more silver. I only got to dig a couple of times last year and once was when I went up to the forum hunt. I did get a nice Mercury at the hunt, my only silver last year.

I bet that felt good seeing that silver in the hole!

...digging fever is now flowing through my veins!! I know there must be some old silver and an Indian or two in that yard.
