hi all...went to a park tonight where there was a week long fair about a month ago. since i am new, i want to share my thoughts to the other newbies. first, when there is a fair or festival make a sketch or take a picture with your cell phone of where the vendors and ticket booths are. also hi light the quarter games and the rides that spin and/or bounce. the second thing i would like to suggest happened to me the other night. i was sweeping when i got a good steady tone so i dug. i always set the plug about a foot away so i can sweep it and then the hole. this time, though, i got a beep on the plug and a beep on the hole. happened to be a coin in each but initially registered as one. remember, when you set your plug back in to sweep it again just in case.....good ole Indiana dirt is HARD; blisters on both hands and a broken shovel....i think i am starting to get the hang of finding clad with my 202 and want to turn disc way down so i can start looking for jewelry but the ground is too hard to dig everything only to find tabs and caps. any suggestions other than to "put my big boy pants on and quit whining" ??

Your going to dig tabs no matter what with a bounty hunter 202...If your looking for jewelry, you just HAVE to dig those signals, because you never know...I have a BIG 2 section pouch for my finds, and one day, I filled both sections full of pull tabs...I should have kept them and started a collection to turn into the scrap yard...lol.
The first gold ring you pull is gonna make all of them pull tabs a lot more beautiful...

yeah..i own quite a few tabs now and im looking forward to pulling my first value. thats what makes this addicting. you never know what that next beep or digger full of dirt might uncover.....

IT IS A SICKNESS YOU KNOW! Could of had a big basement and swiming pool by now for what I have dug but cant help myself. The next dig may be the big one?? Oh well, could think of worse things Right??:wiggle:

now i have some jewelry but not much. there is a ton of people who detect in this area so finding a spot is hard. several times i thought i had a good idea of a spot just to get there and see holes dug already that nobody filled in. :veryangry: . fill your holes whoever you are. anyways. thats not a bad idea about the fairgrounds. i will try it next time there is a fair around. and with the tabs, i save them to recycle when i take my cans and plastic in.

Makes you want to make up some little tokens out of like cheap sheet metal or something, and stamp on them..."I filled this hole just for you!!!"...drop them in every hole you have to fill for that lazy sap who leaves them open for you....

(grin) As pathetic as it may all sound I have given up on all hits below the 4" mark on my Time Ranger. The ground is like concrete so I'll wait till the rains come. Till then it's all about the clad.
