Hit it Big at the Old School Today with BIG Silver!

Went back to an old school that I had hit before. Somehow I missed a 4X8 ft area that was loaded with silver! Ended up with 4 total including a '59D Franklin half, '58D Washington, and two mercs ('26 and ?D). The silvers are typically not beautiful here. I also picked up a religious pendant, 10 crusty wheaties, and less than a dollar in clad. The coins were mostly shallow (4-5 in) so anyone who put a coil over them could have found them.

Nice finds. Good thing you went back and hit that area. As bad as they came out of the ground i wonder if they ever had asphalt over that spot.

nice pieces, thank god you found that missed spot. damn the soil is harsh on your coins, your right, i never see silver tarnish to that degree, HH

Those are some nasty looking silvers. Nasty or otherwise, silver is silver. Good job! HH jim tn

Thx all for the kind words!!

Yes, the school site is not far from the ocean so coins get hammered...

Nice finds! Found rough coins like that before that were in an old barn lot area that was heavy in old manure and urine that had been dry for years.
