My classes ended at 1pm today. I figured I would then work on a project I believed due on Wednesday, well I found out it is not due for 2-3 weeks! My . buddy then asked if I had found anything metal detecting in the last few days. He seemed interested so I said "let's go!" We hit his house which is close to the lake in Plattsburgh and has a stone foundation. The soil was all sand and finds were plentiful but the older finds eluded us. The first target I dug was the medallion and my buddy was happy as could be. He couldn't believe how much change could be buried in the ground. We found a lot of change including four pennies that must have been put on the railroad tracks. I got the sterling ring in his front yard. He wanted to eat so I headed out to a park on Cumberland Head. I found some more change and a 29 wheatie, but got sick of the newer stuff and went to Point Au Roche where I thought I might have a better chance hunting the woods for some Rev. War relics. It was a dissapointment as every square inch of the place had a buried pulltab, bottle top or beer can. I did enjoy hunting right next to the lake and seeing a few deer so it was a good trip. Have a good one. . I then hit a cornfield till dark, but only some trash and muddy boots. It was fun to check some new sites out and was sure happy to find the ring and what maybe my first 3 or 4 ringer. Have a good one.
