Hit a new park today that is about 3 miles from my house...I biked there, with the detector in a pack on my back...Turned out to be mostly pennies, and iron trash....I did find a nickeled horseshoe charm, and some sort of cast aluminum thing...also the 1966 dime is worth 65 cents according to the blue book of US coins...

1966 Dime, 1988P Dime, 1999D Dime, 1970 Copper Cent, 1996 Zinc Cent, 1997 Zinc Cent, 1997 Zinc Cent, 1999 Zinc Cent, 2000 Zinc Cent, 2007 Zinc Cent, 2007 Zinc Cent, cast aluminum whats-it???, nickeled horseshoe charm pendant...

hi bhlandstar. there has to be older places you can hunt around syracuse! new york is a very old state much like virginia is, and has been walked across, fought over, and habitated for the better part of 400 years! i'm very surprised i haven't seen you post up on some old new york coppers yet! very surprised. it sounds like you would do much better to start seeking out the older sites around town. hh,

Yeah...I am surprised too...My area was highly hunted back in the 60s and 70s...now, I have not seen another detectorist anywheres...There either are none but me, or they are staying below the radar for some reason...I have not even found any Indian heads, and very little wheats...Very little Silver for that matter...I need to hunt some of the older home sites in the village here, or go to some of the places I have been researching...I do not drive, so getting to these sites is a hassle....
