Went back to Burkeville to try to find my Lesche digger that I lost the other day, but I couldn't find it. The field is very short cow pasture grass, you could have seen it laying there for 100 yards. I figured someone else picked it up. While I was there, I decided to hunt a field I hadn't hunted before... I figure since I spent $35 in gas to get there to find a $30 digger, I might as well put in some investment time. In the picture below, you can see about 1/3 of the field. That little white speck is my truck.

My first old find was this heavy large ring; anybody got any ideas? Kind of looks like a pocket watch frame, but I think its too beefy. I found one like it before a couple years ago.

Found this two-piece button, shank rusted off. But there was something on the front. Scrub as I may, I couldn't quite make it out, as I was looking for a state seal. When I got home and cleaned it, I could easily make out a picture of a steam locomotive. You can see it in this picture, except it is upside down. The circle part is the headlight of the steam engine, below that (I mean above that) is the steam engine grill, and the engineer compartment towards the rear.
In the picture below is a flat button, and last picture is a Civil War bullet. The finds in that field weren't exactly hot and heavy, but you know what I say, sure beats a jab in the eye with a sharp stick.
