Hit a Few Soccer Fields:

Nancy-IL

Well-known member
At first I thought I was going to have to get my boots on for all the standing water. Then I walked to a dryer part of the fields. I was using my Big Foot coil. Here's my take for the day, except for 40 thousand of these things..:pulltab: Well, maybe not that many. Check out the three colored pulltabs I saved for the picture. It was a beautiful day out and we made the best of it. Didn't find a treasure grove, but sure had a good time. I hope you all had better weather and were able to enjoy some sunshine with low humidity also. Thanks for looking. HH to all, Nancy

Oops, guess I better attach the photo.

Thats a nice bunch of coins, especially the nickels. You think you have enough there for a gallon of milk Nancy? HH Dennis in Idaho

I hit a football field today also. I didn't do has well as you because it hasn't had a chance to fill up from last fall. I found one of the green tabs, it was a pain to see in the grass. They have gold ones also. HH Rob

Nancy,

A very nice collection of clad coins and colorful tab tops. I have been toying with the idea of adding a Bigfoot coil to my MXT coil arsenal. From what I have heard they are great at covering a large area such as a soccer or football field, are excellent at finding rings, and are primarily used for seeking out shallow targets. What I'm a little fuzzy on is their discrimation capabilities and pinpointing. Do you have problems with these, and is the Bigfoot coil easy to use? Thanks!

Pete

Pete, The Big Foot coil is one of the coils that would be last to go if I had to get rid of them. It's very accurate and easy to pick two coins that are an inch apart and the pinpointing is so accurate, it's unreal. When pinpointing, I can take my probe and hit the target 9 our of 10 times with the first poke at the ground. As for the "discrimination capabilities" that you asked about...........that's the MXT's job. These coils are back in production and still a bit pricey. But with the coverage you get and the lightweight of this coil, you'll get your money back over and over again. Depth is 5+ inches and that's with my gain only at 6. The one thing I've noticed is that the VDI is off 2 numbers higher than the stock coil. But that's no big deal. Hope that helps.... Nancy

Nancy,

Thanks very much. One last question. Where did you get your Big Foot (the coil, not your shoe size..)

Thanks,

Pete

Nancy is still getting her beauty rest :sleepy:, but I bought that for her from a White's dealer in Arkansas, I believe.

Hard to believe but after moving to NM I was forced to hunt for clad for the first time ever. Didn't have much luck finding older places to detect at first so I decided to hit a huge soccer field about 1 mile from from our house last summer. They can play 7 games at the same time. Over the course of 2 months I found 3 rings and 360 coins, (all denom's.) And I still haven't finished it. Anyway, soccer field are fun to hunt and a great way to hone up on those pinpointing skills.
