A Civil War soldiers coin purse was recovered at DIV this past weekend and it is literally bulging with coins. The recovery was made close to the 2nd Corps hospital site in the 8' X 10' foundation of a winter hut between two rocks.

I feel pretty sure that the soldier was sick and died at the site during the winter of 1863/64 and left his most prized possession behind. The "upacking" of the coinpurse was done yesterday after going through an extensive preservation process by the owner who has shown the great respect for the relic that it deserves.
The "upacking" will be shown over several days on YouTube video's.
