Hip Mounting an Elite or GT

Here is what I hip mount my Sovereign Gt with. It is call a tactical dump pouch and can be had at an Army Navy store. I just used a razor to cut a hole in the bottom for the coil wire to screw on. The Sovereign will fall into the hole every time if you do it right. The front pocket holds a spare battery. A nice tight fit for the GT. I think the older Sovereigns are too big. The Elite is the same size.
Price is around 17.00. I have used it all season and it is still going strong. I put it right on an army web belt.

I want one! I'll be looking around town for one. The Minelab hip mount bag leaves much to be desired. The pockets and the snap down top cover look like a big improvement. Any more details on the specific model ( or dimensions) of this "tactical dump pouch" , or maybe where you got yours?
Thanks for the tip
Jim

Rather than a razor to cut the hole for the cable a hot soldering iron is better as it seals the material and stops it fraying, i got a similar one and use it on the yolk and belt it came with i paid i think about $20 for 3 pouches, 4 inch belt and the yolk that is like the gpx harness and is very comfortable, ebay has loads

That's nice. I bet the strap is also longer too. I have found the strap for the older hipmount bag to be painfully too short, even at its longest.

wow now i like this bag, just might have to get one, thanks for info berry...
hows that amp working out for you?? please let me know how it does.
good luck
john
