HIP MOUNT FOR THE EXCALIBUR

New member
Since I am considering purchasing the excalibur 1000, I am wondering if it is worth it to purchase the hip mount. If anybody out there uses the hip mount, I would appreciate any info you can give me as to its effectiveness regarding usage! Thanks!

If you buy it new, I think it's part of the package (included). At least with some dealers. I just ordered one about 10 minutes ago.

Hi larry,
Get the Excal and you will never have to say your sorry. I got the hip mount with my 1000, and while it really helps, I think that you would be better off with a balanced shaft. The hip mount sells for about $40 and the shaft sells for $80 from floridastraightshafts on eBay. I can vouch for the top quality of the shaft and the honesty of the seller.
I have 2 Excals and bought 2 shafts for them. You can hunt all day without getting tired or sore. I have a very bad back and if it weren't for the shafts, I would probably have to give up the Excals.
With the hip mount there is a tendency to tangle up the cord.
I do not have any financial ties with the guy, I'm just a very satisfied customer. I've recommended the shaft to several of my friends that have Excals and everyone just raves about them also.

many mounted like that here

B U T...............u must make sure and secure the coil wire so it does not get pulled on directly.

NOW..............last weekend i did something i thought i would never do and i unbelted it and i have been trying out this balanced shaft rig.............AND LIKE n5pip has stated above, it really does work great.............i use the model where the excal..........sits behind the arm cup, some mount directly under arm........

NOT SURE HOW THIS RIG WILL WORK IN THE BIG WAVES, BUT IN THE SHALLOWS AND DAMP SAND IT REALLY DOES WORK GREAT.
