some of the areas I hunt around here are loaded with rusty nails and junk... running a modified version of "trashy park" with goes4evers settings. I get a great tone followed by a thunk. the ferrous numbers are high anywhere from 18-25, and conductive is between 43-,48... but there is that sweet spot that rings out well and gives a solid 12-45,46.. so I dig... and dig and dig then I remember after the 4th or 5th time that that thunk was a tell tale sign for me. I always read that you have to dig it to find silver.... well now it;'s all coming back, years ago I stopped digging these jumpy high tone thunk swings... when I did happen upon silver with iron it acted totally different. when a silver dime or other coin was in the hole with rusty iron it would be a jumpy number and the tone would vary...and go to null , but there was no thunk! I went back and read my notes from 3-4 years ago... I know everyone has different experiences, but I thought I would share mine.
