Anybody out there ever metal detected rivers, lakes and swimming holes in the California High Sierras? If so how did you do?

Not yet, but I just bought a used DetectorPro Wader and am thinking about it. I've tried a couple of sandy/dirt areas along the american river and only found a few recent coins.

I need to get a used Tiger Shark first...I've got some great places in mind!! Just don't want to share them yet until I check them out could be virtual gold mines though.
