High sensitivity with threshold constantly nulled out!!!

I have seen many posts on the forum, as to whether or not you can still find targets with the threshold completly nulled out. I have hit this same area with low sensitivity, and auto sensitivity and found nothing. Yesterday I cranked the sensitivity up to 25 and crept along about 1 swing every 4-5 seconds. I had absolutly no threshold tone, but that didn't stop the machine from locking on to these targets, pinpointing was a bit difficult due to all the iron, but none the less turned up these in under an hour. There is still a good acre to hunt, so I hope to find more.

Nice digs and I agree. An area we hunt in N. AL is so full of iron in the soil there is no threshold at all, yet the the Explorer still picks up the targets in High Sens in locked mode. I never use the auto mode. When I first got the machine I only hunted in auto mode, but quickly learned I found more in the locked mode. I have "trash" setting with sens at 18 and a "Deep" setting at Sens 28. I also only hunt in Iron Mask mode that is pretty much maxed out, but I only hunt for CW relics. I am getting more interested in hunting for coins lately though and am interested in learning new settings for that.

Manual 24 or25 is my normal setting. With IM at 26 or 28 it cuts down on the nulls. The detector ids ALL metal and you HEAR those targets in proximity based on your disc, thou you hear null it recovers very quickly as it passes over any metalc and it breaks thru if you are going slow enough. Its kind of like having your threshold set really high... weak signals have a problem breaking the threshold... but occasionally one will.
