High School Ring Update

Well, I tried, but it looks like the 2006 class ring I found this weekend will go unclaimed for now. I'll post it on ringfinders, but I thought that even though I didn't have a school name (It just has an "H" for the school) that I could still find the owner. Because right next to the 10K mark is an "HJ" which is for Herff-Jones, the maker of many class rings and other recognition items. I got the number for the local rep and spoke with him tonight, but even with the owner's NAME he said he couldn't find out who's it was unless I knew the school name. And it could be from any state. So there you go...didn't expect that. I figured it would be no problem for him to find who paid for it.

Here's the ring again...

In other news, I found the ring below a couple of years ago and liked it pretty well and had it sized (down) and wore it. Then I found a nicer one and had it sized down as well and started wearing that one. Then I lost a bunch of weight and had the 2nd one resized again and this one has been in a ring box for a couple of years. A guy at work who's seen it before wants to buy it and I told him I'd sell it to him. I'm giving it to him tomorrow. I told him $150 and he jumped at it. I'm sure it's worth a bit more than that but it's not doing ME any good sitting in that box and I have many more. This will make something like a dozen rings I've sold over the years. I usually just snatch a price out of the air...good deal for them, good deal for me.

Sure is. What do you make of it? Roman numeral 6?

I have an email in to the Herff-Jones "Customer Satisfaction Program" depertment. We'll have to see if they can come up with the owner. I geve them his name and both the pics. Hopefully will hear something back soon.

Mike, on one side it looks like it says BOND. What is on the other side and what is inscribed on the inside. I can see some engraving but not enough to make out. These ar3e usually easy to return but yep, you have to come up with a school name.

Good on you for trying. I usually get more fun out of the return that the finding.

That's an interesting theory. And very possible. As for the Mario Bond, I'm sure it is his name. Because inside the ring, in cursive, it says Mario M. Bond.

I'm sure I'll hear something from Herff-Jones corporate today.

Yeah, it's his name...Mario Bond. Still, even with that, the rep said he needed the school name. Hopefully the main headquarters will come up with something. Beyond that I will put it out on www.classringfinders.com and toss it in my collection case.

Hey Mike,

I did a little checking, because I am a geek and I like a challenge.

There is are eleven people with the last name bond that live in Virginia Beach

www.whitepages.com

Maybe one of these people are related somehow?

I was also thinking, maybe the H stands for a sport like Hockey.

Good Luck.

Jim

That may be a good guess. I looked up the school and their web site doesn't have a whole lot of clues, but they do refer to the school as "HHS" and it IS close, so I have emailed their school secretary and we'll see what she has to say.

Thanks!
