private club that sold mixed drinks before Texas allowed them to be sold in pubs, bars and honkeytonks. There may have been back room gambling. If it had been a whorehouse, it would have been on Crockett Street.

I was down there, just past there (Christal beach) hunting the beach last weekend there was so much seaweed you couldn't hunt the wet sand at all.
As for the token, Fannin Street is one of the main streets in downtown Houston you might do a search for old places in Houston or better check with the Houston historical soc.

There was a huge storm last Friday when I was there so I didn't get to hunt much I was tyring the wet sand and didn't hunt the dry. Where were you on the beach I hunted from Cristal Beach back toward Rollover. Do you live near there maybe we can get a hunt together I live in East Texas near Sam Rayburn Res. and usually hunt the freshwater beaches and have good luck there 10 gold rings so far this year on the beach with my XLT. I just got my water machine back from White's my old Surfmaster crashed after 12 years not to bad! They sent me a Surf PI back so I'm tyring to learn it.

I live in Lake Charles, after you take the Winnie exit and head South
where the highway splits and you have to go West to Galveston, that
is where we did most of our hunting. Years ago we found some pretty
old coins in that area. I found a 1895 half in real good condition.
Sounds like you are having a good year so far. Let me know when you
are planing on another trip there, and I'll try to meet there.HH
