High hopes for this weekend hurricane

Everyone excited about the forcast? I know I'll be on the beach in the thick of things. Kinda of an oxymoron, hoping the beach gets pounded, while relaizing the monitary damages it will cause. maybe a good thing... means some contracts will have to be released for projects. HH Mike

I bet the heavy surf will bring up lots of good items old and new, i would like to search after it went by, it was a rian storm that gave me the 1879 seated dime wen it washed out the centuys old sand pile

Gunnar - that was a sweet find without your detector! mcb613, I see where you are coming from (all the great finds you will make) but I certainly wouldn't look forward to a hurricane hitting my community. If it does hit your area, I hope & pray it just roughs up the ocean to bring in some goodies for you and doesn't do any harm to people or property. - Jim

Able or not you live in Ohio. I am certain there will be quite a mess at best after the storm passes (been there done that)( Charlie to name the last one) the fewer people to clog the roadways the better. You may want to hunt the beach and have fun while the locals might be trying to put their lives back together

i was in charlie in Orlando, so i do know what the aftermath of a storm is...so far MB wont have any issues..MB is a vacation town and since we've already planned this months ago, this is just the added bonus for me...now I'm sure I'm not the only hunter local or not that wont be on the beach tomorrow after the storm passes....I'm sure the roads will be just fine too,and if not well that's what travel ins is for....
hope you do well

I was in Charlie in PUNTA GORDA (ground Zero) Also many bad situations while employed in the state police until retirement. Check out the video of the 8 idiots that got washed off the jetty at Boynton Beach. They didn't think the situation was dangerous either

My only high hope is for everyone to come out of this with no problems..... detecting is the last thing on my mind..

OK i have arrived safely and did hunt for a bit, north myrtle beach high tide right now, lots of people on the beach,no other detectors i saw, weather is great,no storm damage here...only found a few clad and a token...just hunted the waters edge...dry wet sand line...ill check when low tide is and try again tomorrow....
hope everyone else had better luck....
